On the 26 February, 2016 it was our first day in Hawaii and we witnessed the Quiksilver Eddie Aikau competition; 40-50ft waves being tackled by the surfing elite. This is considered the Superbowl of surfing. Last time this competition was held was 9 years ago. An unforgettable experience and an excellent introduction to Hawaii. Huge respect to the surfers, the organisers, the lifesavers, the Aikau family of course, the open ocean.
